The steady-state simulation of the Selective Hydrogenation Unit (SHU) was carried out in Aspen HYSYS, revealing that the unit was operating at 120% above design capacity. To address this, our dynamic simulation consultants conducted hydraulic and thermal adequacy checks, identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions, such as resizing pumps, process lines, and control valves, to ensure a safe and efficient system.

Additionally, CEPL’s dynamic simulation consultants performed dynamic simulations on a Gas Sweetening Plant using Aspen HYSYS Dynamics to optimize an early production facility. This involved treating 2.5 MMSCMD of sour gas with 30 ppm H2S and 2% CO2 using MDEA as the solvent. The modelling included the Amine absorber and Stripping column, allowing our consultants to study various dynamic scenarios, such as amine circulation pump tripping, hot oil FCV failure, and increases in H2S and CO2 concentration, ensuring comprehensive consultation and safety recommendations.
