Feasibility studies are also carried out by CEPL. One of the projects is the feasibility study for boosting oil-producing well productivity. Production fluid from various wells was processed at a central processing terminal, which had 2 separators in series. It was observed that the second stage separator was redundant, as most separation occurred in the first stage separator. The feasibility study was performed by simulating the model in Aspen HYSYS Dynamics for the existing system and proposed system. Maximum vapor load to vapor recovery system during loading operation, process line size adequacy checks with respect to velocity criteria, and flow assurance for the entire facility was determined. The increase in the throughput was one of the major outputs of this study.
