Process plant and individual safety are the major concerns associated with any chemical operating industry. Safety studies are performed by CEPL for processing facilities. One such study includes HAZOP for the LPG storage and bottling facility. To mention another, we have performed a HAZOP study for a light hydrocarbon processing facility, meticulously checking the P&ID vessel by vessel, reactor by reactor, column by column, and line by line (defined by nodes). We use guide words to help generate thoughts on how deviations from the intended ‘operating conditions’ or ‘design intent’ can cause hazardous situations!
